I started the Cache Rally 3 years ago, a few of years after Andreas resurrected the V-Strom Cache (doing that after the original Cache was mysteriously "lost"...)
This years Rally was held in Enterprise, Oregon at the Log House RV park. The Log House is extremely motorcycle friendly and accommodating. It was a good choice!
I'm on my way north, I'll meet Steve aka Eagleeye in Challis. Idaho
I get on the freeway until Malad, Idaho, then take back roads to Challis.
Challis and its 1081 residents make up the largest city in Custer County Idaho.
I stop in Arco for this photo-op.
Arco, originally named Root Hog, is the first community in the world to be completely lit solely by electricity generated by nuclear power.
Then on to Challis where I meet Steve, we overnight in Challis and the next day we're off to Cambridge, Idaho where we'll meet up with 6 other V-Strommers.

The Cambridge 8 campsite.
Breakfast the next morning. Good food and a cute waitress! After our meal, as we stood in line to pay, the Waitress scanned the bill and innocently said to Bruce, aka T-Ville Trooper, "Lets see, you're my sausage boy....right?"
There was total silence for a few seconds, followed by laughter..
We referred to T-Ville as Sausage Boy the rest of the trip.
Its raining when the Cambridge 8 ride up the incredibly beautiful Hell's canyon to the visitors center.
Five of the eight..

Andreas, Sausage Boy, and I stop at the Hell's canyon overlook......
.....while we are there these beauties pull in. They are on a week long trip.
We stop in Cascade, Idaho and stay overnight at the Arrowhead RV park the site of the Historic 1st annual Cache Rally...
Andreas cooks us a delicious dinner.
The next morning we're off for home. We ride south to Boise and then on the freeway to slog it home in SLC.
A 1750 mile trip for me. I hope everyone had as good a time as I did, it was a laugh a second the entire trip.
Thanks to Andreas, and Don aka Nvr2old for all their help putting on this rally.
