Wilsons Arch.
And then I see.....you guessed it another road I've always wanted to ride. SR 211 that goes to Canyonlands NP. What the heck, I have time...
The end of the road, turn around and head out.
A road off SR 211 is a "shortcut" to Monticello. One of the rangers at the visitors station tells me she thinks it is still impassable due to snow. But I try it anyway. I get 10 miles from Monticello and run into this but I keep going by using my feet as outriggers. After two more such places, my arms are tired and my feet are getting cold so I decide to take the long way around.

THe true biker spirit mate..."theres a road, lets try that one"! Just love that kind of attitude.
Dear Ken:
All right... I am so there. I am going to ride these roads before I die... Which judging by the way I feel at the moment, could happen anytime now. So I have to add SR211 and US 191 in Arizona too.
My goal for 2012 is to ride out to this place on a 2003 or 2004 BMW K1200GS.
Thank you very much for these pictures and the inspiration.
Sincerely

Twisted Roads
With pictures like this you don't even need to write a ride report ;-)
Beautiful roads, somehow I need to find the time to ride there.
Nice pics and best trip!...
Un saludo.
Roger - I love seeing a new road and turning at the last moment (safely of course..) to go down and find out what that road it hiding. The best kind of serendipity!
Jack - "He who hesitates is lost"...C'mon over!
George - I'm not a wordsmith (obviously) I'd rather post pics than post words.. :) Thanks!
Freebird - Thanks!
Wish I would have known you were in Flagstaff..... you get out and about more than anyone I know! Outstanding Ken....
KJ, thanks! I had planned on just a gas and go stop at Flag since I had a deadline to be in Mesquite, but the tire caused me a two hour delay, then as I left Northland motorsports about two blocks down the road a woman and toddler grandson was stalled in an intersection. I helped her get her truck across into a parking lot, then as I went back to my bike a kid was standing there wanting to talk all things Strom. After a while I told him I had to go, barely got out of town before encountering another stalled car, they assured me they were "ok", so I went on. My quick 'gas and go' turned into quite an ordeal!
Looking back, it would have been better, and more enjoyable had I just gotten a room there and chilled for the night. Awwww hindsight....
