Glacier Nat Park - Awesome Couples Ride 2021 part 1

The date for Our Awesome Couples Ride has arrived!
This year we will go to Glacier National Park. This will be our second attempt at Glacier (as a group) as we tried to go a few years ago but the fires were so bad we had to change our plans at the last moment and instead we went to Colorado and rode the Million Dollar Highway.
With the heat wave this year Bev decided to take our 4runner and follow the guys on the bikes. The other Ladies agreed and rode with her for a large part of the trip.

Back to this year; Our first stop is at the beautiful Shoshone Falls in Twin Falls, Idaho.
The water level is a bit low but they are still a sight to behold.

After an overnight stay in Boise, we rode to Hell's Canyon and rode up to the visitors center, but sadly it is closed. That's ok, we were there for the ride, and not being able to buy a post card wasn't that big a deal.

We stopped in Joseph, Oregon for dinner then went to our motel in Enterprise, Oregon.
The next morning I was up early and walked out to see the beautiful sunrise only to get a bonus and saw these three bucks across the street at the courthouse.

We departed Enterprise via the SR3/SR129 and rode to Lewiston, Idaho where we traverse the "Old Spiral Highway". Which as mentioned in the previous post is where the race that inspired the song, "Hot Rod Lincoln" took place.

Then on to Sandpoint, Idaho where overnighted.  The night manager told me about a piece of the Berlin Wall that was nearby. Googling it I saw that it was only 15 miles away.

And this is it! It is a display in front of someone's house.

After seeing the Berlin wall, we rode toward Yaak, Montana where we rode the Yaak River road.

On our way there we ran into the owner of this outfit at a gas station. It is a beauty, eh?

The Yaak is a popular hangout for the Sasquatch.
Some of the Yeti's we saw were better dressed than others....

Ken ready to teach this one a lesson!

I didn't fare so well...

After the Yaak we ride on toward Eureka, Montana crossing the Koocanusa Bridge along the way.

Its a loooong bridge!

Then we stay for three nights in Big Fork, Montana.
One of the days there was spent going to Glacier NP. A bunch of us went in our car (hence the sandals) After the Park we did some shopping (and some  hamming it up for the camera)...

An interesting sign on one of the roads we traveled

On the post Glacier NP shopping trip, Bev found this piece and had to have it! I agree.... it looks very good on our wall.

And that is part one, part two will be posted in a day or two..
