El sol en Noviembre - 3

And this is the haunted motel. Later in the day we met three riders from Colorado who had stayed here a few days earlier and were run out of their room at 2am by a.....? They really could not say what it was but they were 3 grown and sober men and were frightened by something.
When we woke up the day of our stay Randy mentioned he had had some "really strange" dreams....  Weird eh?

 The group from Colorado.
We stop in Guerrero Negro to get fuel and this guy shadowed us asking for money. He talked to himself and was obviously special needs.  I admit, I fed the bear.
Some scenery on our way to Loreto.
 The mission in San Ignacio.

Remember two days ago, the 40 mile dirt road that led to Coco's corner? As we were on that road we saw this couple in their (heavly laden) Audi sedan driving on that road. We thought they were crazy for taking that kind of car on that kind of road. It turns out that google led them that way and called it the "Best way".
And now as we went to dinner we run into them again! Both a pleasure to meet, but she (Ryan, if I remember right) had one of the most effervescent personalities I've ever seen. I hope they enjoy their time in Baja!
My garlic shrimp. Tasty!
The next morning looking out the front of the Mission Hotel, in Loreto.
The hotel.
Murals everywhere!
Cortez and me looking at the sea.
Some sights along the road to La Paz.

We check into our hotel at La Paz and get ready for an unsupervised night on the town!

El sol en Noviembre - 4

We are in La Paz, staying at La Perla - we leave our rooms in search of some dinner. Randy starts talking to a guy standing outside a bar and he takes us on a four block walk to a restaurant that he claims is the best in town. It should be good from the prices on the menu.... we leave and find a cheaper place to eat; the Bismark.
Randy tries to get some free drinks by challenging the Bismark workers to a pushup contest....with me! None of the 30-somethings take the challenge....Whew! Close call! It was all in good fun and there were laughs all around.
The garlic shrimp was better than excellent!
Next up on our party hard night was ice cream!
A
After a hard night like that, we sleep in a little.
The view out our window.

 Breakfast - Huevos rancheros

Leaving La Paz we part ways with Randy. He will take a ferry to Mazetlan, Phil and I go on to San Jose del Cabo.

Some pics along the way.

 The Tropic of Cancer.

I take a guess at where home is and our current location.
Aaaaaand we make it to San Jose del Cabo where we will spend the next 6 days.
Beverly has flown in from SLC and arrives 10 minutes before we do....good timing eh?

The view from the condo deck.
The temps here are perfecto! It is very serene and relaxing, but to tell you the truth.....I'm starting to miss faithful V-Strom, Gen.
This ride report will pick up again when we start for home.

No Bad Days

Ok... I said no more posts until we start our ride home, but then I thought I'd include the days here as well.
We rent a car and drive to Todos Santos to see the sights.

I'm told this is the "Hotel California" from Don Henley's song of the same name. Whether true or not the story is fun to believe, and the similarities are interesting.

We have breakfast at the hotel's restaurant.
Mine; huevo rancheros.
Beverly's; apple crepes with fruit.
Both very good!

 Restroom designaters.

Breakfast is over so we hit the town.
 Beverly and Phil.
The mission ('I heard the mission bell...') of Todos Santos
 I'm looking a little homeless...I need a haircut.
I've come to the right place, Ryan does a super job!
We stop at a beach on the way back to our lodging.

A great day is ending. We go soak in the spa and Beverly cooks up a great meal.

The obligatory tour.

We decide to take a tour.

This what greeted us in the morning.
 Our tour guide, Juan.
We go out in glass bottomed boat, and see this cool old sailing ship on our way out of the harbor.

Lovers beach. Through the narrow rock is Divorce beach.

After the boat ride we go here:
Beverly asked them to make a turtle, assuming we could purchase it, but what we didn't know is they take 8 to 10 hours to cool off....so we had to leave it there.
Back on the road, we pass this beach.
Then we go into San Jose Del Cabo. This is the mission in town. All around the mission the streets are lined with art galleries, we spend some time shopping there.
Monday morning Phil and I say good-by to our room and  Beverly, and hit the road. Beverly will catch her flight in  couple of hours.
I keep hearing a disturbing "bang" sound when I go over the topes or hit a pothole. I'm pretty sure it's coming from my forks. In Ciudad Insurgentes I stop at a Pemex station and ask about a mechanic..they send me to an auto-mechanic shop where the guy in the red shirt works, he in turn tries to tell me where a motorcycle shop is and then says, "I lead you". He jumps in his truck and I follow him to this motorcycle shop. The owner, Renee, is in the blue shirt.
Renee gets right to work on my bike. He is done quickly and charges me a very fair price and we are quickly back on the road.
We stop in Loreto and get a nice room. We park the bikes right at our door and sit on the benches looking at the Sea of cortex.

Tomorrow we hope to reach Catavina.
